Wakazi is a rap artist from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, aka “The Bilingual Beast".

His music career evolved from a young child spouting rhymes on the streets of Dar, to becoming a lyrical giant who sees nothing other than work ethic and dedication as the keys to his success.

After years of dedication, Wakazi is poised to become one of Tanzanian hiphop's leading cultural ambassadors. Never ceasing to amaze, his signature blend of English and Swahili rhymes, conscious lyricism, clever wordplay and metaphors are priceless. His lyrical flow in storytelling is unparalleled. He credits this to his life experiences, as well as his imagination, which he claims is sometimes more vivid than life itself.

Wakazi has released seven mixtapes MYU: The Trilogy, Utatu Mtakatifu, Live from Stakishari, Mtikila, The Massacre, Abacus EP (2014) and Kisimani LP (2018), winning a Kora nomination and Tizneez Awards for Mixtape of the Year in 2017 and Best Hiphop Album in 2018.

Wakazi has collaborated with many artists from Tanzania, USA, Ghana and Nigeria, represented Tanzania on Big Brother Africa and performed regularly across Tanzania, USA, Nigeria and Malawi.
