The largest street event of its kind in Zanzibar! Thu 9 Feb 2017
Batimbo Percussion Magique is a spectacular group of traditional drummers from Burundi. To kick off Sauti za Busara 2017, their first ever performance on the island on Thurs 9th Feb is definitely one not to miss.
The action begins from 3:00pm at Mnarani Kisonge, around 2km from Stone Town.
Everyone is welcome to join or follow the Carnival Parade as it shakes and rocks the streets of town to Forodhani.
Expect capoeira and kilua dancers, stilt-walkers and acrobats, beni brass bands, mwanandege ‘umbrella ladies’, Maasai and reki warriors, a kaleidoscope of people of all ages.
If you prefer to wear feathers and face paint or dress ‘normal’ the choice is yours.
Join in, have fun, show your smile and make some noise!
