Couldn't Do It Without You
It started with a colourful parade through Zanzibar Town, for some curious reason including donkeys dressed in kangas. It finished with dancing until dawn at the north coast of the island, on one of the finest beaches in the world. Five thousand people attended every day, including musicians, promoters and media professionals, travellers and tourists, Muslims, rastas and Zanzibari families. People of all ages came together in celebration and were united by the music.
Congratulations to everyone who helped to make the festival such a pleasure, and our most successful yet. Big thanks are due to Zantel, all festival donors and sponsors, to artists and audiences; to trustees, permanent staff and essential crew and to all the local, regional and international media who helped to spread the word. Thanks to you too - all friends and well wishers around the world who have supported Sauti za Busara over the years.

Sound & Lighting Equipment - Urgently Needed |
top
|
|
After six successful festivals in Zanzibar, Busara Promotions urgently needs to acquire its own quality sound, lighting and
stage equipment. If you have contacts for organisations that may be able to
supply us with new/used equipment either by donation or at a reasonable price,
do let us know. A full list of requirements can be supplied on request.
Such technical equipment is in extremely
short supply in Tanzania and is a resource that can be used throughout the year
to generate employment and enhance the social and cultural lives of the region,
as well as to build financial sustainability for the festival.
Busara Promotions is a non-profit cultural
NGO registered under National Arts & Music Council of Zanzibar (BASAZA) in
2003, ref BSZ/UVS/BP/NGO/152/VOL II/2003 |
