Sauti za Busara 2012

“The atmosphere was simply fantastic… the performances were superb.” Brenda Wambui, This is Africa: a message echoed by many of the 20,000 plus people who attended the historic 9th edition of Sauti za Busara, February 2012.

Over 400 performers showcased on the main-stage and within the most colourful Festival Street Parade  to date. Every performance was original, inspiring and passionately delivered, all epitomising the ethos of the festival: Sounds of Wisdom.

2012 Media Coverage

The festival created a lot of buzz in East Africa and beyond.
This is some of what visitors, artists and the media had to say.

“Every festival that is held in Africa is a great achievement. Bringing different bands from different countries of Africa – West, East, South, North – together, in one place, is powerful. That is something that we have to do. We need to do more often. Not only musically, but also as African people in general. That is something we need to learn: we need to be together.”Nneka (Nigeria/Germany).

“It was the best event I ever attended. My wife and me we both feel happiness and joy, love for the African music and people. We are sure this feeling will last till the next festival.” Nicolai Sosnowski festival visitor.
