Born in Zanzibar DJ Saleh is an independent artist who started his musical career in 1990 being part of the group known as Hard 2 Find consisting of three members. After completing his secondary education DJ Saleh continued with a music career originally copying songs of other big artists of the time like Snap, Naughty By Nature and Shaggy so as to sharpen his skills.

In 1999 DJ Saleh joined Bagamoyo College of Arts to study music, and learned to play guitar and African percussions. After a year he came back to Zanzibar and continued as a musician whilst working as a TV presenter in TVZ music programs. To date he has recorded four singles: Si unanipenda (you love me), Asante sana (thank you so much), Ananipagawisha (she drives me crazy) and Wakati umefika (The time is now). His style is unique with a mix of African, Caribbean and Latin flavours.
