Nomfusi is a self-taught singer-songwriter, whose music incorporates afropop, afrosoul, gospel and ballads with maskandi guitars and other sounds of the townships.

As a young girl, Nomfusi used to accompany her mother to weekly sangoma rituals, where she developed interest in music, singing and dancing.

She is now revered across the world for her joyful and energetic stage performances.

The tiny singer transforms into packet of dynamite the moment she holds a microphone. She has performed across Europe and Canada at prestigious festivals including WOMAD, FMM Sines, Lugano Jazz, Stimmen and Afrikadey.

After viewing a documentary on Nomfusi’s life and music, Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records commented, "What a terrific young artist, her genuine concern for her community and beyond comes through so strongly."

Nomfusi has been featured in more than fifty publications, including Drum (who gave her debut album 5 stars), Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Destiny, and appeared on the cover of High Flyers, Mango Juice and The Sowetan.
