Zanzibar’s Dhow Countries Music Academy welcomes children from different schools across the island and unites them with musicians and teachers from DCMA. 

DCMA Young Stars was established in 2013, with its main aims to create, develop, cherish and promote the unique music ideas of kids, teens and young adults.

The DCMA Young Stars is an ever-changing group, including talented students who are all aged under 25. The band features a diversity of instruments and styles and performs unique combinations of taarab, dance, African and Latin genres. They have performed to appreciative audiences at Alliance Francaise, Dar es Salaam and Sauti za Busara festivals in 2013, 2015 and 2023.
