The Mafik is a Tanzanian afropop band from Dar es Salaam which was established in 2018. They have already produced a string of popular hits, including Passenger, Sheba, Niwaze (ft Ruby), Dodo, Sio Mbaya ft Ben Pol, Nibebe and Bobo.

The Mafik have performed regularly across Tanzania, as well as international concerts in Belgium and South Africa.

During August 2019, tragedy struck the group, when the body of Abdallah Yusuf Matimbwa aka Mbalamwezi was found on the streets of Dar es Salaam. It appeared he was the victim of a brutal murder; at the time of writing, police investigations were ongoing. May his soul rest in peace!
