Moyize
Country Rwanda Genres acoustic pop Festival Sauti za Busara 2014 Moyize (Mutangana Moise) is a young emerging Rwandan singer and composer who had been involved in many different projects at the University Centre for Arts and Drama of the National University of Rwanda for 7 years.
Moyize is one of the founding members of Ikobe Muzik Group with which he toured in June 2010 in Tilburg (The Netherlands) at the Mundial Festival. In July 2010, he is selected to participate to the Sundance East Africa Residency in Kenya (Manda). His musical journeys led him to France (Nantes / 2011) and USA (New York / 2011& 2012). He participated to Kigali Up 2013. In September 2012, Moyize recorded his first album Mumataha in collaboration with Alif Naaba from Burkina Faso. Mumataha is Moyize's contribution to the 20th commemoration of the 1994 genocide in 2014.
With delicacy and tenderness, he talks about the child, the husband, the grandmother, the uncle we all miss and fills the solitude and the emptiness deeply engraved in each and every life. He so beautifully sings hope, life and love that the album becomes a hymn to accompany the dead and the living on their respective journeys, a dressing to wounds and comes to lessen the sounds of tears and sorrow.
