Country Tanzania Genres fusion Festival Sauti za Busara 2004 The band consists of four musicians Jhikoman, Salum, Andrew, Omar plus two dancers Naima and Sili, Afrikali's music is a vibrant and rich meeting of Tanzanian traditional styles from different tribes fusing with modern music. The main reason for the use of different tribal sounds is due to the fact that each band member contributes something from his or her traditional background Salum is a Makonde from Mtwara region Southern Tanzania, Jhiko is from Southern highland, Omar is from Kigoma West of Tanzania and Andrew is from Ruvuma Southern Tanzania. Afrikali is a new band in Tanzania music scene, but in just few months these young people has proven that they are confident and heading the right direction in the world of music.
