Usambara Sanaa Group
Country Tanzania Genres traditional Festival Sauti za Busara 2017 Usambara Sanaa play the traditional music and dance of the Wasambaa called Mdumange. The Mdumange ngoma style is music for happy times. It is played at weddings, harvests, weekends, or public celebrations.
One of the factors that makes this style interesting is its interactive nature, whereby the audience is encouraged to join in the dance.
Instruments used include a small drum, which starts the show and continues as a supporting drum. Another six drums are played by one person, with aluminium tin sheets and whistles. Mdumange has one lead singer and others who dance and sing chorus.
