Fatma Zidan is an Egyptian based in Denmark. She is a singer and songwriter who began as a classically-trained harpist aged only 8, then later switched focus to vocals.
Fatma worked with the Cairo Opera while attending Music University, where she immersed herself deeply in the roots of Arabic traditional music. As a session musician she worked with the renowned Egyptian record company ‘AMAR’ as a backing vocalist with different Arabian pop stars, where her soulful voice graced hundreds of recordings. During this time, she recorded hundreds of hit songs, gaining success in Egypt and across the Middle East.
Fatma now lives in Denmark with her husband and fellow musician, Lars Bo Kujahn. Fatma won Danish Music Awards with her albums Muktalef in 2008 and Hawel in 2010.
