CAC Fusion Vol. 1
The Cultural Arts Centre (CAC) dancers and musicians are an extremely active and energetic troupe. Their 14 members draw from various ethnic backgrounds to create high energy performances that feature different styles of music and dance from Tanzania including traditional and newly-created dances, and combinations that fuse both.
They are resident performers at Cultural Arts Centre at Makumira. They have performed at various tourism events, including Kili Fair in Moshi, Karibu Tourism Tanzania in Arusha, and S!TE (Swahili International Tourism Exhibition) in Dar es Salaam, plus events for the Tanzania Tourist Board and the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators.
The CAC troupe includes graduates from TUMA, Bagamoyo College of the Arts and Kilimanjaro Talent Group. In addition, the CAC is actively involved in outreach performances and workshops in schools around northern Tanzania. They also teach traditional dancing and drumming and build traditional instruments using skills learned from local craftsmen.
CAC Fusion represented Tanzania at JAMAFEST in Nairobi in 2015, DOADOA East African Performers Market in Kampala in 2016 and at Sauti za Busara in 2017.
